Ingredients

  • Hungritos French fries Classic or Peri-Peri
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 small tomato, finely chopped
  • 1 green chili, finely chopped (optional)
  • 1/4 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons tamarind chutney
  • 2 tablespoons mint-coriander chutney
  • 1/2 teaspoon chaat masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon roasted cumin powder
  • A handful of fresh coriander leaves, chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Sev (crispy chickpea flour noodles) for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare Hungritos French fries Classic or Peri-Peri according to the instructions given on the back side of the packet. You can either bake them in the oven or deep-fry them until golden and crispy. Set them aside.
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped onion, tomato, and green chili (if using). Add salt to taste and mix well. This will be the base for the chaat.
  1. In a small bowl, whisk the plain yogurt until smooth. Add a pinch of salt and mix well. Set aside.
  1. Arrange the French fries on a serving plate or bowl. Sprinkle chaat masala, red chili powder, and roasted cumin powder over the fries. Toss them gently to ensure the spices are evenly coated.
  1. Spoon the onion-tomato mixture over the spiced fries. Drizzle tamarind chutney and mint-coriander chutney over the mixture.
  1. Pour the whisked yogurt over the fries chaat, creating a zigzag pattern.
  1. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and a generous sprinkle of sev on top.
